DJ Sam

Feb 2026 DJ / AI

Ethan Houseworth + Ultron

๐•in

my music guy. knows every track, every label, every preference.

DJ Sam is one of Ultron's executives on our AI team. not a feature, not a plugin, a fully independent agent with its own Telegram bot, workspace, memory, and identity. Sam runs everything related to my DJ life, and he's become the knowledge base for all of my music.

the knowledge base

Sam manages a 502-track, 10GB music library and knows all of it. my BPM range (128-132), my genres (deep house, tech house), my preferred labels, what i played last weekend, what i've been listening to this week. ask him "what would work for an opener?" and he pulls suggestions from the library based on energy, key, and what i haven't played recently.

he knows the difference between a radio edit and an extended mix. he knows which labels are active and which ones ghost you. he remembers every track i've ever asked about, bought, or rejected. that context accumulates over time through his own memory system, separate from Ultron's.

the identity thing

Sam isn't a tool that Ultron calls. he's a peer. separate agent, separate context, separate personality. when i message Sam's Telegram bot, i'm talking to Sam, not Ultron wearing a hat. the workspace isolation means Sam's music knowledge doesn't pollute Ultron's context, and Ultron's general tasks don't clutter Sam's focus.

the purchasing workflow

i screenshot tracks to Sam during the week. he identifies them, adds to the wishlist. Friday, i tell him we're ready to buy. Sam builds the cart across Beatport and Bandcamp, then hands it off to Ultron for payment, because Sam doesn't have card access. Ultron completes the checkout, sends the tracks back. Sam downloads, organizes in Google Drive, applies metadata, and syncs to Rekordbox via pyrekordbox. tracks are loaded on the XDJ-XZ before dinner. the full purchasing workflow is documented in My First Agentic Purchase.

the library syncs to Rekordbox for actual DJ use on the Pioneer XDJ-XZ. no manual downloading, no drag-and-drop file management, no spreadsheets of what was bought where.

why it matters

this is what multi-agent AI looks like in practice. not one agent doing everything, but specialized agents with their own domains, identities, and responsibilities. Sam is proof that AI agents work better when they have focus, and that the real value isn't just automation, it's accumulated knowledge. Sam gets better at his job every week because he remembers everything.
